Focusing On Christ's Abiding Love
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” –1 Timothy 4:12
The high school youth ministry meets together on Wednesday nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This time together includes worshipping the Lord through song and through His Word. Studies include a variation of topical messages as well as teaching verse-by-verse through the Bible.
After service we provide opportunities for teens to pray, hang out, play games or grab a snack from our snack bar.
As leaders, we realize that ministry isn’t something that takes place solely at the church building – God has called each of us into an evangelistic lifestyle. In response to this calling we want to facilitate youth outings that may include: community service projects, local outreaches, discipleship camps, weekend hikes, neighborhood barbecues, etc.
As a ministry we encourage our students to volunteer at our church body, as well as in the community. This may look like steaming milk at the espresso bar, washing dishes in the kitchen, stacking chairs after an event, or helping out with childcare during service. The development of a servant’s heart is essential in becoming a disciple of Christ (Philippians 2:5-11).
We also host fun activities on our campus, which may include: nights of worship, movie nights, discipleship all-nighters, or a holiday gathering.
As youth leaders we include parents in planning fun events that encourage teens to follow the example of Jesus by serving through outreach, hospitality and fellowship. If you would like to be a part of planning youth events, contact the church office at (509) 467-2860.
