The Children's Ministry at Calvary Spokane provides childcare and age appropriate Bible teaching for children ages infant through 5th grade at our main services and various Bible Studies throughout the week. The purpose of our ministry is to share the love of Christ and teach Biblical principles that will enable children to grow in a relationship with our Lord. It is our desire to come alongside parents as we supplement the teaching they provide within the family unit.
Childcare for infants and toddlers
For those children too young for a classroom atmosphere, our Nursery Caregivers share the love of Christ in more indirect ways in fun rooms where kids can be kids.
Sunday School for 2-year-olds through 5th grade
Beginning at age 2, children are taught Biblical principles using a variety of age-appropriate techniques. Activities and crafts are designed to help reinforce the Biblical truth being taught.
The current pre-school curriculum is a survey through the Old Testament.
Elementary ages are currently studying the writings of the book of Acts.
Childcare for infants and toddlers
Firm Foundations (our in-house developed curriculum for 2 year olds through 5th grade)
Each night children experience Bible teaching around a foundational topic and scripture, with activities during the night to assist in memorization of a weekly scripture, as well as a time for playing games. There is no cost to parents for this program, and it's been designed for easy incorporation into your family Bible time or devotions. Camp Calvary
Camp Calvary is an action packed day camp focused on Bible teaching and fun activities designed to help children come to know the Lord and grow in their relationship with Him. This exciting four-day Camp for children leaving Kindergarten through those leaving 5th grade will be held here at the church from July 17-20, 2012.
Facilities
We have been blessed by God with facilities that include a Children's Center with eighteen classrooms on two floors, a large auditorium, a large Playland and a conveniently located Parent's Room with cctv feed of the service.
Safety & Security
Those who volunteer in Children's Ministry are required to complete an extensive screening process that includes a 6-month attendance policy, formal application and interview, background and reference checks, as well as Risk Management training.
In addition, we hire a Spokane County Sheriff's Department Deputy to be on-site during our Sunday services. We believe that this goes a long way to ensure the safety not only of the children you place in our care, but the church in general as we worship together

Volunteer positions are available at all services. These positions range from minimal commitment (once per month) to weekly lead teacher and assistant teacher positions.
